Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />March 14, 2002 <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16 <br />Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts, James J. Nugent, Jr. and Barbara Meade and staff <br />liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator were present. Colleen Seferian <br />excused. <br />The minutes of the February 7, 2002 were tabled correction needed ie from 2001 to 2002. <br />(vote 2:0:0) <br />Next order of business: <br />• Public Health Nurse was introduced to the Board of Health, Rachael Sacco. Rachael <br />has been with the department since December 10, 2001. Salem State graduate 8 years <br />acute care experience and one year Public Health at Melrose BOH department. <br />• Presentation by Asphalt Reclamation Industries has been tabled. Company has issue <br />with landlord of potential site in Reading. <br />• Rabies clinic will be April 6, 2002 from 2-4 p.m. Dr. Michael Leverone, DVM. 2-3 <br />cats in travel cases and 3-4 dogs on leach. Information on rabies and prevention of <br />rabies as well as lyme disease. <br />• Track Road report - Beaver Dam report - three Beavers have returned to the area. The <br />dam will be removed. No repair of the dam has been evident in the last two weeks. <br />• Administrative update : <br />• Three tanning establishments have requested applications for operation <br />• Star Bucks application reviewed and accepted by staff. 288 Main St. <br />• Gregory's Deli new ownership - March 30 up to code. <br />• Food establishment food handler certification all most complete three pending <br />results of tests. All Choke saver certification for all food establishment up to <br />date. <br />• 1371 Main St. Prime Gas station remodeling now at a halt. <br />• 306 Main St. Getty Gas Station remodeling submitting plans. <br />• Hepatitis B adolescent clinic began the first week of February at Parker and <br />Coolidge Middle Schools. (170 students) <br />• Discussion regarding Burger King construction - They request keeping drive <br />through window open during construction. The Board voted 2:0:0 to send-order <br />letter stating imirnment public danger shall prevent continuation of kitchen <br />operation during construction. <br />
