v <br />Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />November 14, 2002 <br />-'f EI'E0 <br />-~N CLERK <br />Lr1NG, MASS. <br />Z610Z i_.C I b P ' 0 b <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:03 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16 <br />Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts, by Colleen Seferian, Vice Chair and Barbara <br />Meade and staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator were present. <br />The minutes of the October 15, 2002 were accepted as read. 2:0:0. <br />Next order of business: <br />• Dumpster permit fees and regulation changes tabled for further discussion with a full <br />Board present. <br />James Kavanaugh presented plans to construct new septic system at 1457 Main <br />Street. Pressure system will be installed in the front of the property due to elevation <br />and size of lot as well as placement of leaching field. Plans were also reviewed by <br />engineering department. Barbara Meade made a motion to accept the plans as <br />presented with the expectation of submission of as built plans following final <br />inspection. Motion seconded by Colleen Seferian. vote 2:0:0. <br />• Tobacco Enforcement officer, Nancy Smith introduced to the Board. Nancy discussed <br />her roll in Reading. The Board voted her an agent of the Reading Board of Health <br />giving her the privilege to write tickets regarding only the tobacco enforcement <br />regulation Section 16. <br />• Gary Hart, Acting Vice Principal of RMHS was also voted as an agent of the Board <br />of Health to issue tickets to RMHS students only on high school property. Discussion <br />regarding the coping of the regulations and ticket book was completed before the <br />vote. Vote 2:0:0 <br />• BOH was update on the following issues : <br />Hospice at 620 Haverhill St. will be owned by the Eastern Middlesex VNA <br />questions were sent to the presenting attorney Latham and Latham. The director <br />of the hospice will present to the BOH at the next meeting, December 12, 2002. <br />Micro-pigmentation application for makeup was discussed briefly regarding the <br />information forwarded by the tattoo artist. Barbara Meade will investigate and <br />forward information to the Health Administrator to prepare for the next meeting <br />in December. The artist will not come before the Board in December. <br />Administrative`report • Safe and Drug Free schools grant received funds $13,443 <br />• Flu clinics completed report attached. <br />
