Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />April 10, 2003 <br />ED <br />51ER <br />i S, ASS. <br />2013KA - P409 <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:05 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, 16 <br />Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts, by James J. Nugent, Jr., Chairman, Colleen <br />Seferian, Vice Chair and Barbara Meade, secretary and staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health <br />Services Administrator were present. <br />The minutes of the March 13, 2003 were accepted as read 3:0:0. <br />Next order of business: <br />+ Tobacco program discussed. The state has a little more than one million dollars left in <br />the program if the legislator leaves the funds in the tobacco line item CDC will match <br />the funds. This will allow the seven programs to survive another 18 months. As <br />always the budget depends on a vote by the legislature. <br />+ Landfill discussed. Pest management has been working with three neighbors. Letters <br />to 130 abutters have been sent regarding the pest management program. Suffick <br />Construction has been very cooperative with the Health Administrator as well as the <br />Pest Management Company F& W of Quincy. <br />+ Next order of business: Menomune clinic will be held May 2, 2003 at Reading <br />Memorial High School. Suggestions for next year program to offer information at a <br />senior parent night. <br />+ Review section 9.4.2 change 3 years to 5 years for PIC to hold valid food preparation <br />program. Colleen Seferian moved to make change in regulation seconded by Barbara <br />Meade and voted 3:0:0 <br />+ Decision regarding Getty Gas Station and the sale of tobacco to minor was health <br />code. Getty will remove their tobacco product on May 1 through May 7. The Tobacco <br />program will handle the issues. <br />+ Administrative report : <br />Report on discussion with MASSPRO application for reimbursement of flu <br />and pneumonia immunizations. The Board was informed of the limited <br />finance of the state and therefore limited supply of the vaccine. <br />Housing issues discussed <br />Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Barbara Meade at 7:25 seconded by Colleen <br />Seferian and voted 3:0:0. <br />Next meeting May 8, 2003 <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />rJane M.
