Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />September 18, 2003 <br />ED <br />E- K <br />_.9 MASS. <br />a t( { P fir' L b <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:45 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, 16 <br />Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts, Vice Chair. Barbara Meade, secretary, David <br />Mitchell Singer and staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator were present. <br />The minutes of the August 14, 2003 were reviewed. Correction necessary on page one <br />under discussion of BOH smoking regulation line four. Draft will be changed and <br />brought before the Board on October 9, 2003. <br />Next order of business: <br />• Discussion of tour of Landfill Development. Both board members present felt the tour <br />was worth the time and of value. The design and slope of the construction site was <br />discussed. <br />• Permit for Fish and Wild Life to breach beaver dam at 735 Haverhill Street. The BOH <br />was given a report and a vote was taken to take action 2:0:0 DPW will breach dam <br />9/19/03. <br />• Administrative report: <br />• Cholesterol screening clinics September 16 and 17 went well <br />Flu clinic dates in BOH packet <br />• BOH looking to begin limited health and wellness screening <br />Oral cancer screen, skin cancer, cholesterol, BP, glucose, nutrition <br />and exercise. Discussion will continue with staff and BOH members for <br />support of wellness day in March. <br />Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Barbara Meade at 7:45 seconded by David <br />Singer and voted 2:0:0. <br />Next meeting October, 2003 <br />espectfully suJ^bmitted, <br />Jane M.
