=CEIVED <br />` 011 CLERK <br />t;Gl'AG, MASS. <br />Board of Health Meeting <br />November 4, 2004 <br />2004 DEC 21 C 4: 4 0 <br />The meeting convened at 6:05 p.m. in the Arnold Berger Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, <br />Massachusetts. Present were Chairman Colleen Seferian and Vice Chairman Barbara Meade. <br />Also present was Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner. <br />On motion by Meade seconded by Seferian the minutes of October 21, 2004 were approved as <br />submitted by a vote of 2-0-0. <br />The Town Manager updated the Board of Health on the reclassification of the Public Health <br />Nurse position and the fact that it has been re-advertised. We hope to get somebody onboard <br />very soon. <br />There was discussion on the 2004 flu clinics, or lack thereof. The Board reviewed the packet of <br />material put together by the Board of Health, Peter Sanborn Place and Reading Rotary. The <br />Town Manager's understanding is that these packets are to be distributed in the elderly housing <br />developments. <br />The Town Manager noted that Health Administrator Jane Fiore continues to be deeply involved <br />in bioterrorism readiness in the Commonwealth. <br />Mosquito control is over for the season. <br />The Board discussed the large number of communicable diseases. <br />The Town Manager noted that Wood End School is completed and occupied. The other two <br />school construction projects are ongoing. <br />With regard to restaurants, the Health Inspector has approved the reopening of the Green <br />Tomato. The Town Manager noted that there's a housing case that was resolved today. <br />The Town Manager introduced Joan Vitale, Health Inspector to the Board. Joan has been <br />handling issues during Jane Fiore's health related absence. <br />The Principal and Assistant Principal of the High School were expected in to be interviewed and <br />sworn in as agents for the Board of Health for tobacco enforcement. As of 6:30 p.m. they had no <br />shown up. <br />On motion by Meade seconded by Seferian the Board of Health voted to adjourn at 6:35 p.m. <br />Respectfully sub nutted, <br />Secretary <br />
