11y"i <br />Rea rk <br />Reading Board of Health <br />Minutes I~30 <br />January 12, 2006 <br /> <br />The Board of Health meeting was called to order at 6:00pm Town Hall, Berger Room by <br />Chairman Colleen Seferian. Also present at the meeting were Barbara Meade, David <br />Singer and staff liaison Jane Fiore. <br />The minutes of December 8, 2005 were accepted as read. 2:0:0 with one abstention. <br />Old Business: <br />• Health administrator presented overview plan for emergency dispensing site plan <br />progress and early plans for COOP (continuity of operations plan). It was reported <br />fire, police and DPW will list staff and town the live in with the number living in <br />their household to better estimate the volume of vaccine needed to immunize first <br />responders in the event of a flu pandemic. <br />Discussion followed on presentation. <br />Emergency Preparedness Report volunteer nurse credentialing process going well. <br />Liability insurance for nurses during emergency response covered by the Town. <br />PHN will plan a medication administration (IM/SC) refresher for news presently <br />Working as faculty members. <br />Public Health Nurse and BOH member David Singer will be trained as CPR <br />instructors. This course has been delayed due to AHA change in criteria. <br />• Logan Airport Fly Over Committee report by Barbara Meade nothing new. No <br />noise complaints reported to the Health Division. <br />• Budget discussion tabled <br />• Tobacco Coalition program meeting minutes distributed. Discussion of potential <br />change in regulation from identifying every one under the age of 27 to raising the <br />age to 30 years. The Tobacco program Coordinator will forward more <br />information. <br />• Copies changes in Animal (dog) Bylaw noted as part of the packet and this By <br />Law will be brought before April Town Meeting. <br />• Mercury Exchange program notes were sent to the BOH as part of the packet by <br />the Covanta representative, Dan Harty <br />
