Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />March 9, 2006 <br />s L <br />v ' <br />~ <br />r+ <br />t } of <br />k~f~ ~ ~.'Y <br />The Board of Health meeting was called to order on March 9, 2006 by Chairmen Colleen <br />Seferian at 6:00 pm at the Town Hall, Berger Room. Those present at the meeting were <br />Barbara Meade, David Singer and staff liaison Jane Fiore. <br />Business: <br />• Minutes of February 9, 2006 were accepted as read (vote3:0:0.) <br />• Train Stop Coffee Shop request for waiver on failed Serve Safe Certificate. <br />o Maureen Pisetel scored 71 % required 75% to be certified. A copy of her test <br />and failed questions was presented to the BOH. Questions regarding food <br />storage, temperature control, cleanliness, sanitizing and storage were asked by <br />the Board all answers satisfactory. A report from the health inspector indicated <br />extreme responsiveness to all corrections general condition of the establishment <br />meet all standards. A motion was made to waive the failure and to accept the <br />score of 71 % as passed. With the understanding the owner operator will repeat <br />the exam in December 2007 rather than the excepted practice of a 5 year <br />certification. The waiver is valid for one calendar year. 3:0:0. <br />• Barbara Meade reported on the Logan Airport Fly Over Committee. No information or <br />complaints forwarded to the Town. The minutes and notification of any changes <br />effecting Reading continue to be the operating procedure. <br />• Community Initiative on drugs and alcohol report given by Barbara Meade: <br />o The membership remains stable attendance at weekly meetings very good <br />o The group has increase awareness of the issue. <br />o Each working group will present their finding to the full group to prepare for a <br />report to the community and them Town Meeting in April. The project seems to <br />be moving in a positive direction. <br />• ARC of Eastern Middlesex represented by Joann Simmons and Chief Financial Officer <br />presented the organizations annual report to the Board of Health prior to the annual <br />budget request of $10, 993. <br />o Items of note: <br />100 employees <br />■ 2 adult homes Hopkins Street, Pitman Road and Franklin St properties <br />the Gould St operation is for industrial training. <br />■ 11 citizens live in Reading Housing <br />• 1 independent apartment <br />0 3 houses with 24 hours support <br />
