Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />May 11, 2006 <br />The Board of Health meeting was called to order on May 11, 2006 by Chairmen Colleen <br />Seferian at 6:00 pm at the Town Hall, Berger Room. Those present at the meeting were <br />Barbara Meade, David Singer and staff liaison Jane Fiore staff guest Trish Faulkner, RN PHN. <br />Business: <br />• Minutes of April 18, 2006 were accepted as read (vote2:0:0.) <br />• Public Health Nurse, Trish Faulkner presented PHN program to the Board <br />o Communicable disease investigations and statistic increases in cases <br />o Medical screening clinic - cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure Mantoux <br />increase number of clients as clinics reinstituted after the vacant nurse position <br />for 18 months. <br />o She discussed her participation in the 6 week Boston University Graduate <br />school of Public Health Infrastructure training <br />o Emergency preparedness training continues ICS and EDS site training <br />o Volunteer emergency response nurses training with the health admin for 70 <br />nurses. <br />o Participation in Massachusetts Association of Public Health Nurses. <br />o Assisted in the presentation of Lyme Disease prevention for the Department of <br />Public Works. <br />o Shares in the writing of the weekly Public Health Column in the Daily Times <br />Chronicle. <br />The Board asked Trish if she enjoyed her new position n public health. The answer was yes - <br />each day and hour is different and there is so much to learn. <br />;aNext"order of business mosquito control - spring helicopter spraying completed <br />by stern Middlesex Mosquito Control Project. Concern of the project supervisor - David <br />Henley has been the location of a cluster of cedar trees and the potential of EEE being carried <br />by the culienex melarnarum this spring through fall. A fifth trap was set and will be monitored <br />weekly by the project entomologist. Weekly reports will be sent via.email to the division. <br />• Update on reimbursement amount from third party billing as of April 15, 2006 = <br />$23,000. The final amount should be at $29,000 by the end of May. Thank you to Vicki <br />Drougas was sent with her 10% rate for filing the 2200 forms on behalf of the BOH. <br />0 Routine reports were tabled <br />
