Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />June 8, 2006 <br />The Board of Health meeting was called to order on June 8, 2006 by Chairmen Colleen <br />Seferian at 6:05 pm at the Town Hall, Berger Room. Those present at the meeting were David <br />Singer and staff liaison Jane Fiore. <br />Business: <br />• Minutes of May 11, 2006 tabled <br />• First order of business to review new Dog By Law passed by Town meeting. Items <br />discussed were the establishment of an Animal Control Appeals Committee of 3 <br />citizens. The committee is made up of 3 citizens one of the 3 at least must be an owner <br />of a dog. The committee is appointed by the BOS and responds to citizens or ACO. <br />Fines and role of the BOH are to be refined. The public health continues to have the <br />legally responsibility for rabies quarantine and the BOH shall keep the Animal <br />Inspector and the regulation regarding keeping of farm animals as public health <br />responsibility. The second mentioned and continued responsibility is licensing and <br />inspecting commercial kennels. Inspection of 4 house dogs as a kennel will be defined <br />- more clearly by Health's request of Town Counsel. Health Administrator will report at <br />next Board of Health meeting. <br />• BOH regulation section 8 - irrigation well installation permits in aquifer district. <br />Austin Prep High school is renovating and is requesting test wells for irrigation well. A <br />waiver was granted. The actual well drilling application and location may be within the <br />aquifer and require conservation determination of need permit and a presentation for a <br />waiver before the Board of Health at the end of the summer. <br />■ Sanborn lane requested irrigation well permit and is on hold for well <br />driller information. <br />■ Johnson Woods Condominiums requesting installation of two wells for <br />irrigation one on either side of the development on common land for <br />common landscaping purposes. First well failed to produce. In August <br />two new sites will be drilled <br />Construction Update: <br />• Archstone pool and club house operational. Entire project to be completed by late fall <br />2006 <br />0 RMHS - asbestos removal and demolition continues <br />
