BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING , ~ ~ ~ ~ <br />-10'04 ,d CLERK <br />MINUTES <br />October 9, 2008 <br />2008 DEC 10 A 107 2 , <br />The Board of Health meeting was called to order on September 11, 2008 at 6:08 pm by <br />Chairman Barbara Meade at the Berger Room, Town Hall. Those present at the meeting <br />were Barbara Meade Chair, and Colleen Seferian and Dr. David Singer. <br />In attendance: Judith Price RN, Thomas Dolan RN (Regis College Student), Larry <br />Ramdin, Staff Liaison/ Health Services Administrator. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Minutes of meeting held on September 11 were read and accepted 3:0:0 <br />Staffing Update <br />The final round of interviews for the Public Health nurse position was done on October <br />3rd and a decision was made to offer the position to a selected candidate, pending <br />reference checks <br />Appointment of Agents of the Board of Health <br />Judith Price RN was introduced to the Board as the Acting Public Health Nurse. Ms Price <br />is a Reading resident who was formerly the. Public Health Nurse in Wakefield. She has <br />consented to provide interim Public Health Nursing Services in Reading. She will be <br />working two (2) days per week. <br />The Board voted 3:0:0 to confirm Ms Price as an Agent of the Board 3:0:0 <br />Administrative Report <br />The Board accepted the Health Administrators and enquired on the apartment closure <br />they were advised that in response to a call from the Fire Department the Health Services <br />Administrator went to 83 Hamden Street and was allowed to enter the house by a resident <br />and conducted a plain view inspection of the basement apartment. Strong odors of urine <br />and fecal matter was noted as well as clutter accumulation of bottles and containers that <br />appeared to have fecal matter, the apartment was deemed to be uninhabitable and was <br />required to be cleaned. The resident has since vacated the apartment and the owner has <br />advised the Health Division that it will no longer be rented or used a livable space. <br />New Business <br />The Board was invited to training session with the other Town Boards on conducting <br />meetings, on October 23, at the. Library. <br />The Health Services administrator will be attending the Second of the Northeast Public <br />Health Leadership Institute from October 20-22, in Rhode Island. <br />
