ANNUAL TOWN MEETING <br />Reading Memorial ]High School April 10, 1995 <br />The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Paul C. Dustin, at 7:45 p.m., there being a <br />quorum present. <br />The Invocation was given by Daniel A. Ensminger, Chairman, Board of Selectmen, followed by a <br />moment of silence honoring <br />Bruce Morang, Reading Chronicle Editor for 27 1/2 years, <br />died January, 1995 <br />Stephen W. Thomases, Town Meeting Member 1990 through <br />1993; Member of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee, <br />died November, 1994 <br />J. Henry Vik, Town employee for twenty-eight (28) years from <br />November 1962 until his retirement as Cemetery Director, <br />December 1990, died December, 1994 <br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Moderator, Paul C. Dustin, issued Oath of <br />Office for newly elected Town Meeting Members. <br />The Warrant was partially read by the Town Clerk, Catherine A. Quimby, when on motion of <br />Daniel A. Ensminger, it was voted to dispense with further reading of Warrant except for the <br />Officer's Return, which was read by the Town Clerk. <br />ARTICLE 2 - Timothy R. Twomey, Chairman, School Committee, presented the following <br />awards: <br />The Dorothy and Arnold Berger <br />Award Program <br />In 1985, Reading resident Arnold Berger established a trust to provide awards recognizing <br />exemplary teaching and high level of commitment by members of the faculty of the Reading Public <br />Schools. The recipients are representative of the many fine teachers who hold high ideals of <br />professional service to children and their families. The teachers selected through a peer review <br />process have demonstrated excellence in teaching, commitment to students, and leadership <br />through collaboration with their colleagues. <br />1 <br />
