SUBSEQUENT TOWN MEETING <br />Virtual Town Meeting November 9, 2020 <br />via Zoom Webinar <br />Each Precinct met via Zoom Webinar on date and time listed. During each Precinct meeting a presentation <br />was given on the process of how a virtual Town Meeting was going to be conducted. No official business was <br />conducted: <br />Precinct 1 - Met Monday, October 19th at 7:00 PM <br />Precinct 2 - Met Monday, October 19th at 7:45 PM <br />Precinct 3 - Met Monday, October 19th at 8:15 PM <br />Precinct 4 - Met Monday, October 26th at 7:00 PM <br />Precinct 5 - Met Monday, October 26th at 7:45 PM <br />Precinct 6 - Met Monday, October 26th at 8:15 PM <br />Precinct 7 - Met Wednesday, October 28th at 7:00 PM <br />Precinct 8 - Met Wednesday, October 28th at 7:45 PM <br />As this was the second Virtual Town Meeting in the history of the Town of Reading a mock Town Meeting <br />was conducted on Saturday, November 7th at 11:00 AM as a practice session for all Town Meeting Members <br />and Staff. The Moderator walked through the process of a Virtual Town Meeting. <br />The Moderator appointed an Assistant Moderator to help with anyone who wanted to attend in person at the <br />Performing Arts Center at Reading Memorial High School. Stephen Crook, Precinct 2 acted as Moderator <br />with five Town Meeting Members present. <br />The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Alan E. Foulds, at 7:34 PM, there being a quorum present. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was said by all, followed by the invocation given by Philip Pacino, <br />Precinct S. Stephen Crook was sworn in as Assistant Moderator. The Moderator recognizing the proper return <br />of the return of the Warrant. <br />The Moderator went over the procedures of Virtual Town Meeting: <br />If you wish to speak for any reason from the Performing Arts Center - the PAC - please let the assistant <br />moderator know at any time. <br />For virtual zoom participants, if you wish to make comments or debate, use the "raise hand" function on <br />Zoom. I will watch for them, and Jayne Wellman will also be watching. <br />If you wish to make a Point of Order, use the "Chat" function in Zoom. Please do not use the Chat function <br />for any other purpose. Any comments in Chat become part of the official public record. <br />If you wish to offer an amendment, use the raise hand function. <br />When it comes time to vote, you will see a Poll appear. I will give you 30 to 45 seconds to cast your vote. <br />Those in the PAC will vote as usual. <br />Motion made by the Select Board pursuant to the Acts of 2020 Chapter 92 and before taking any other vote <br />at this Subsequent Town Meeting, the Town Meeting members vote to continue conducting business at this <br />meeting remotely using the video conferencing platform "Zoom Webinar", as selected by the Moderator. <br />
