Call to Order <br />Chair Borawski called the School Committee to order at 6:35 p.m. and reviewed the <br />agenda. <br />II. Recommended Procedure <br />A. Old Business <br />FY2018 Budget <br />Mr. Robinson moved, seconded by Dr. Snow Dockser, to support the Town <br />Man1jer's recommendation for the use $150,000 to implement the second <br />year of the new science curriculum to be voted during the April Town <br />Meeting for use in the FY2017 budmet. <br />Mr. Boivin asked what grades will be implemented next. Dr. Doherty responded <br />that we will finalize grades 7 & 8, align curriculum standards and purchase <br />materials in grades K — 2 and start at the high school. <br />Mr. Boivin followed up by asking if the students are assessed on this curriculum. <br />The answer was yes. Students are assessed on science in grades 5, 8 & 9. <br />The motion carried 5 — 0. <br />Page 1 1 <br />
