SPECIAL TOWN ELECTION <br />January 8, 1991 <br />Pursuant to the Warrant and the Constable's Return thereon, <br />a Special Town Election was held at the time and places specified <br />in the Warrant, and was called to order by the Wardens in the <br />precincts as follows: <br />Precinct <br />1. <br />J. Warren Killam School <br />Barbara I. Takach <br />Precinct <br />2. <br />J. Warren Killam School <br />Eleanor M. Brown <br />Precinct <br />3. <br />Joshua Eaton School <br />Carol Beckwith <br />Precinct <br />4. <br />Joshua Eaton School <br />Lawrence Drew <br />Precinct <br />5. <br />Alice M. Barrows School <br />Mary Andreola <br />Precinct <br />6. <br />Alice M. Barrows School <br />Louis R. Gardner <br />Precinct <br />7. <br />Birch Meadow School <br />Henry A. Murphy, Jr. <br />Precinct <br />8. <br />Birch Meadow School <br />Mary S. Ziegler <br />who then partially read the Warrant, when on motion of Dorothy' A. <br />McHugh, Precinct 1; Anthony Rickley, Precinct 2; Rosemond E. <br />Robinson, Precinct 3; Dorothy Somers, Precinct 4; Olive L. <br />Thompson, Precinct 5; Elizabeth Hancock, Precinct 6; Remo G. <br />Vinci, Precinct 7; and Rita Shaw, Precinct 8, it was voted to <br />dispense with the further reading of the Warrant, except the <br />Constable's Return, which was then read by the respective War- <br />dens. <br />The ballot boxes were examined by the Wardens and each found <br />to be empty and all registered 000. <br />The polls were then declared open at 7:00 A.M. and were <br />closed at 8:00 P.M. with the following results: <br />for a total of 6,838 votes as follows: <br />Question No. 1 <br />"Shall the Town of Reading be allowed to exempt from the provi- <br />sion of proposition two and one -half, so- called, the amounts re- <br />quired to pay for the bond issued in order to fund renovations <br />and additions to the Birch Meadow School on Arthur B.
