325 <br />READING SCHOOL COMMITTEE MINUTES JUNE 20, 1984 <br />Call to Order <br />Chairman Coco called a special meeting of the Reading School Committee to order at <br />7:30 p.m., on June 20, 1984, in the Central Office Conference Room. All members <br />were present except Mr. Nigro. Superintendent Wells was also present. <br />Ratification - RTA Contract <br />Chairman Coco explained that this meeting had been called for the purpose of voting <br />on ratification of the RTA Contract, adding the teachers had unanimously voted to <br />ratify the day before. <br />Mr. Allen gave an explanation of contract changes, as shown in Attorney Allan <br />Drachman's letter of June 12th. <br />Mr. Nissen suggested that an interpretation of the agency service fee be obtained <br />from Attorney Drachman. <br />Chairman Coco read a statement to the Press about the Agreement, highlighting the <br />major areas of the Agreement. <br />Mr. Allen, as a member of the Negotiating Subcommittee, stated that the Subcommittee <br />recommended that the full Committee accept the proposed agreement. <br />Mr. Nissen moved, seconded by Mrs. Philbrick, and it was voted unanimously, that the <br />Reading School Committee ratify the Contract between the Reading School Committee <br />and the Reading Teachers Association as shown on Document B -1 -a. <br />1984 -85 School Calendar <br />Mr. Nissen moved, seconded by Mrs. Philbrick, and it was voted unanimously, that the <br />School Committee approve the 1984 -85 School Calendar, as shown on Documents B- 1 -b(1) <br />and B- 1 -b(2). <br />Proposition 22 Subcommittee <br />The Chairman named Mr. Nissen and Mr. MacDonald to a Subcommittee for promoting the <br />amending Proposition 22. <br />Adjournment <br />The Committee adjourned by unanimous consent at 7:50 p.m. The next meeting is <br />scheduled for July 2, 1984, at 6:30 p.m. <br />F,,t-spectfully subbmitttte�d.'j%%� <br />j�a►�uc.v� /S . �c/�� �X.I" <br />Ikobort S.
