43 <br /> READING PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br /> Reading , Massachusetts <br /> SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING • <br /> MINUTES NOVEMBER 17 , 1986 <br /> Call to Order <br /> Chairman Cliff Allen called the regular meeting of the Reading <br /> School Committee to order at 7 : 33 p .m. on November 17 , 1986 in the <br /> Superintendent' s Conference Room at 34 Gould Street. All members <br /> of the School Committee were present, with the exception of Mr . <br /> Richard Coco, who had called the Chairman to notify him that he <br /> would be unable to attend the meeting . Cliff Allen also noted that <br /> the Superintendent, Dr. Robert Wells , would not be present as he <br /> was on sick leave because of physical problems . Others in <br /> attendance were Assistant Superintendents, Robert J. Munnelly and <br /> Ronald A. Winslow, Mr. Barry Low, Director of Music, students from <br /> the Reading High School Chorus, Dr. Mark Piechota, Principal of <br /> the High School , Mrs. Rena Mirkin, Advisor to Student Advisory <br /> Council, members of the Student Advisory Council , parents, and a <br /> reporter from the Chronicle. <br /> Approval of Minutes of November 3 , 1986 <br /> A motion was made by Mr . Nissen , seconded by Mr . Shannon , to <br /> approve the Minutes of the Meeting of November 3, 1986 . Munnelly stated that Mr. Barry Low , Director of Music for <br /> Reading Public Schools , was going to present a musical program to <br /> the committee by the new chorus at the High School , "Singers <br /> Unlimited" , and to also speak to them about this year' s plans for <br /> :he chorus .
