35 <br /> READING PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br /> Reading, Massachusetts <br /> SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> MINUTES NOVEMBER 3 , 1986 <br /> Call to Order <br /> Chairman Cliff Allen called the regular meeting of the Reading <br /> School Committee to order at 7:35 p.m. on November 3, 1986 in the <br /> Superintendent's Conference Room at 34 Gould Street. All members <br /> of the School Committee were present. Others in attendance were <br /> Superintendent, Robert S. Wells, Assistant Superintendents, Robert <br /> J. Munnelly and Ronald A. Winslow, Jay Dumas, Director of Summer <br /> School, Staff Members, Claire Flynn and Jeff Cryan, parents, and a <br /> reporter from the Chronicle. <br /> Approval of Minutes of October 20 , 1986 <br /> A motion was made by Mr . Nissen , seconded by Mr . Shannon , to <br /> approve the Minutes of the Meeting of October 20, 1986 . The vote <br /> was unanimous. <br /> Bills and Payrolls <br /> Warrants for bills and payrolls were approved as follows : <br /> Bills <br /> November 7 , 1986 - General Expense - $34 , 159 .26 <br /> November 14 , 1986 - General Expense - $75 ,705 .26 <br /> Payrolls <br /> November 7, 1986 - Weekly - $30 , 324 . 87 <br /> November 14 , 1986 - Weekly - 32 , 380 .50 <br /> November 13 , 1986 - Teachers - 358 , 600 . 02 <br /> Citizens ' Input <br /> Mrs . Kendra Cooper asked to be recognized and stated that since <br /> there was no item on the Agenda regarding her question of having <br /> the Agenda sent to the Chronicle early enough to be printed, she <br /> wondered if the School Committee Members had any objections to <br /> that? Cliff Allen stated the members had no objections , and when <br /> he did check on that question, he found that copies of the Agenda <br /> have always been available to the Chronicle in time for them to <br /> print it, but it has been their decision not to do that. <br /> Mrs . Cooper also had some questions on the School Committee Policy <br /> on Field Trips. She stated the current policy only required that <br /> when private cars are used, the plans only need the approval of <br /> the School Principal, and also require that he inform parents that <br />
