I I READING PUBLIC SCHOOLS Reading, Massachusetts REGULAR SESSION MINUTES FEBRUARY 5, 1990 CALL TO ORDER Chairman Stan Nissen called the regular meeting of the Reading School Committee to order at 7:08 p.m. in the Superintendent's Conference Room, at 82 Oakland Road. All members were present with the exception of Margaret Cowell and Mary Williams. Also present were Superintendent Dr. Robert J. Munnelly, Assistant Superintendent Lynn M. Bak and Business Manager Warren Hopkins, and a reporter from the Chronicle. APPROVAL OF MINUTES There were no minutes to be approved. BILLS AND PAYROLLS The warrants for bills and payrolls were as follows: BILLS January 29, February 5, February 12, PAYROLLS January 12, January 19, January 26, February 2, January 25, February 8, CITIZEN' INPUT 1990 General Expenses $143,818.23 1990 General Expenses $ 55,749.95 1990 General Expenses $137,614.33 1990 Weekly $ 51,668.55 1990 Weekly $ 54,051.63 1990 Weekly $ 53,952.43 1990 Weekly $ 55,995.16 1990 Teachers $400,434.57 1990 Teachers $399,041.34 Kendra Cooper raised questions regarding the P.T.O. safety report and about what procedure for health and nursing services have been done at Kiilam and Birch Meadow Elementary Schools. Dr. Munnelly responded that a handbook has been developed and will changes be shared with School Committee next week. SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT Dr. Munnelly complimented Sue Wheltle who was named Director of the Year by the Massachusetts Director of Art Association. She was cited for the quality of art in Reading, and for her contri- bution to such statewide endeavors as Art All State, serving on the Massachusetts Council for the Arts, and for numerous efforts to enhance the arts statewide.
