The Reading Retirement Board held a meeting on JULY 8, 2002, in the Accounting and Finance Department Office, Town <br />Hall, Reading, Massachusetts. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. <br />This meeting was called to vote on submitting an accidental disability application to PERAC and for other general business. <br />The Board members voted to submit the accidental disability application for Robert Ripley to PERAC to convene a medical <br />panel. He is applying for accidental disability due to an injury he incurred at work when a door was pushed open by a co- <br />worker and smashed into his wrist and shoulder. The diagnosis, per his doctor's narrative report, is status post rotator cuff <br />repair with continued pain and soreness. <br />The Board members approved the request of Marcia Brett to buy back three years of creditable service (9/1/66- 6 /30/69) in <br />which she was employed as a teacher in Wilmington. The total cost is $3,563.52. The MA Teachers' Retirement Board <br />will accept liability for the three years of service. She will pay this in a lump sum as she will be retiring once the buy back <br />has been completed. Marcia is an educational assistant and has been in the Reading Retirement System since 1990. <br />A transfer of $847.85 was received from the Middlesex Retirement System for educational assistant Marcia Brett. <br />Middlesex will accept liability for one year of service for the period of 9/7/88- 6/15/89. <br />Approved retirement application: <br />Marcia E.
