L 7 53 <br />The Reading Retirement Board held a meeting on MAY 30, 2001, in the Conference Room, Town Hall, <br />Reading, Massachusetts. The meeting was called to order at 7:09 A.M. <br />Minutes from the March 28, 2001 meeting were signed by the board members. <br />Minutes from the April 25, 2001 meeting were read and accepted. <br />Approved new membership: <br />Mark Hyson Recreation Administrator 4/30/01 9% <br />Christian Schuettner Laborer -DPW 5/14/01 9% <br />Approved refunds /transfers: <br />Sharon Creamer worked for the RMLD for 7 years and 11 months and resigned as of 5/11 /01. <br />Total deductions and interest $21,665.71 (less 50% interest $706.93) <br />Federal Income taxes withheld $4,191.76 <br />Net Refund $16,767.02 <br />Paul Merenda worked for the School Dept. for 3 years and 3 months and resigned as of 2/23/01. <br />Total deductions and interest $8,793.81 (less 100% interest $248.43) <br />Federal Income taxes withheld $1,709.08 <br />Net Refund $6,836.30 <br />Approved retirement application and calculation for: <br />Margaret K. A letter was sent to the Middlesex Board requesting they accept liability for this time. <br />They sent a response on May 22, 2001 stating they do not accept liability for non - contributing <br />employment service of non - members. The Board requested that more information be gathered for the <br />next meeting. <br />Retiree Herbert McSheehy passed away on April 27, 2001. His accidental disability was due to cervical <br />disc disease (back injury). His death certificate states his cause of death was Non - Hodgkins Lymphoma. <br />The board members voted that his cause of death was unrelated to his disability and approved that his <br />spouse, Norma McSheehy, receive a Section 101 benefit of $500.00 per month/$6,000 per year starting <br />with the May 31, 2001 check. <br />
