Minutes of the Board of Library Trustees Meeting <br />Monday, February 14, 2011 <br />Present: <br />David Hutchinson, Chair; Richard Curtis, Vice Chair; Jeffrey Doucette; Cherrie Dubois; Karyn Storti;- <br />Vicki Yablonsky; Ruth Urell Library, Director; Dorota Socha, Assistant Director. <br />Photo was taken of Trustees for Annual Report by D. Socha <br />Meeting called to order: 7:05 p.m. <br />January 10, 2011 Minutes approved unanimously J. Doucette/K. Storti <br />Financial Report (R. Urell) <br />■ General Fund has been expended a little more than half of original appropriation; <br />■ Capital Expenditures - Building Program encumbrance liquidated; <br />■ LSTA Green Grant expenditures. <br />Trustee Liaison's Reports <br />Foundation (R. Curtis) <br />No report. <br />Friends (C. Dubois) <br />The House Tour will not be held this year not enough homes volunteered to accommodate tour. <br />Friends are planning another fundraiser to raise the funds that the House Tour provides to the <br />library. <br />Municipal Building Committee (V. Yablonsky) <br />The Municipal Building Committee presented their report to the Board of Selectmen. The <br />Trustees thank Vicki for all the work. <br />Budget FY12 <br />■ Board of Selectmen voted unanimously in favor of the Town Manager's budget; <br />■ Library review by Finance Committee (FINCOM) is March 9, 2011 at RMLD; <br />■ State Aid: FY12 Municipal Appropriation Requirement (M.A.R.) current budget recommendation <br />is $1,251,170. Short $27,640 to meet M.A.R. <br />Discussion <br />■ Trustees acknowledged receipt of Town Manager's letter dated January 4, 2011. Trustees <br />appreciate the dialogue (D. Hutchinson); <br />■ V. Yablonsky noted a patron spoke out at Selectmen's meeting asking the Board not to cut <br />anything that would risk accreditation of the library; <br />■ R. Urell read letter from "Making Reading Better" which was included in Selectmen's budget <br />packet asking the Board not to cut funding from library - R. Urell also noted patrons at library and <br />around town talking about closing 13 Saturdays in June, July and August and express concern <br />about the library not being accredited; <br />1 <br />
