November 3, 2010 Reading Advisory Committee on Cities for Climate Protection Program <br />Committee Notes for November 3, 2010. 7PM (Next Meeting - November 10 at Town Hall) <br />Present were Ray Porter, Tracy Sopchak, Tony Capobianco, Joan Boegel, Gina Snyder, Dave Williams and Stephanie <br />Anderberg. 4 <br />Meeting opening -Chair Ray Porter opened the meeting. <br />Minutes - The minutes of the September 22 meeting were approved. 4 P , TS <br />Other Business to add to agenda - There was a brief discussion hbout`i" leading Patch" online <br />news as a potential additional venue for the Green Sense articles, however, there is some additional time <br />required to upload articles there, so the committee decided to put this thought on hold for now. <br />Home Energy Efficiency Actions - HEET: On track for 11/13 barnraising event. Flyers and <br />emails have been used to reach out to potential volunteers. Joan will meet with Brittany from EMARC <br />to go over the plans. Joan is asking Audrey for help in finding skilled team leaders. MassSave will visit <br />the EMARC house on 11/19 to do an audit. Joan updated the tasks and supplies spreadsheets. Blower <br />Door Parties: Still having trouble finding a host. One possibility might be the Mattera cabin. Committee <br />members will continue to ask friends and relatives. <br />Business 1-2-3 Pledge - No updates. An upcoming Green Sense article highlights green <br />practices at the coop bank, and in researching the article, Ron asked if they would be willing to share <br />their experience at a round table or similar event. We still need to find out what the business community <br />might find interesting and motivating, and need to see if there is a green business certification program <br />we could work with. <br />Climate Outreach Programs - Ron may have posted a Reading update to the 350.org site. <br />Reading energy panel discussion is on November 16 - Joan & Tony will represent the committee. There <br />was also a discussion of the November-December meeting schedule and a decision to shift dates to <br />November 10, and December 1 and 15. No update on Sustainability workshop or Dianne Dumanoski. <br />Climate Action Plan Updates -Green Sense: Topic ideas include holiday cooking article, <br />winter holiday article, barnraising event follow-up and blower door parties. No updates on other items. <br />Other Business - Covered above. <br />
