299 <br />October 31, 1977 <br />Meeting convened at 7:40 P.M. <br />Correspondance <br />Present <br />Mr. Mayerson will look into Petition of Cities Service Gas Station <br />1.78 Main St. Reading to the Board of Appeals, to extend gas pump island <br />(This would increase the already existing nonconformity by further <br />violating the required set-back from street.) <br />Representative of Department of Community Affairs will visit to <br />discuss Grant application on Wednesday November 2nd. <br />Warrant Articles - Scenic Roads <br />There has not been a response as yet from Board of Public Works <br />on Scenic Roads. Subject was tabled until November 7th meeting. <br />1977 Zoning Revision <br />1. - Railroads - Interpretation of Section III,1,7fhe Board dis- <br />cussed in depth the probable intent of this provision of the orig- <br />inal By-Law; including the suggestions of Bob Mayerson as contained <br />in his memo to the Board dated 10/31/77. It was the general feeling <br />of the Board to pursue option,- #3 - new Railroad Overlay District as <br />our 1st choice, and #2, Ignore Railroad as our 2nd choice. Mr. <br />Mayerson will pursue with Town Council. <br />2. - Table of Uses - Reviewed by Board and generally well accep- <br />ted, as being more easily read and understood. <br />3. - Dimensional Controls - Reviewed for clarity. <br />Space Study <br />Draft letter drawn up and a few corrections made. Letter other- <br />wise well received and will be typed and sent to Board of Selectmen <br />for their input regarding relocation, sharing and proximity of <br />Boards and Committees in town offices. <br />Board voted to go into executive session.
