Minutes of the Second Meeting of <br />Reading's 350th Anniversary Celebration Steering Committee <br />may 18, 1989, Thursday <br />Library Board Room, Reading Public Library <br />Committee Members in Attendance: <br />Edward Palmer, Everett Blodgett, Shirley-Buzderewicz, Susan <br />Flannery, Susan Horn, Paul Sweeney, Susan Theophanis, Susan <br />Wheltle(arrived late); Alan Foulds had told us previously <br />that he would be late and more likely unable to make this <br />meeting(he was unable to come). <br />Also in Attendance: <br />Arnold Berger, Ray Couture <br /> <br />The second meeting of Reading's 350th Anniversary Celebration <br />Steering Committee was called to order May 18, 1989, Thursday <br />evening, at 7:35 PM in the Board Room of the Reading Public <br />Library by Ed Palmer, Chairman. <br />All members of the Committee have now been sworn in and are <br />therefore voting members.. Alan Foulds was not present thus <br />giving us eight (8) voting members at this meeting. <br />Prior to this meeting Ed distributed copies of last month's <br />Committee Meeting minutes, a suggested list of "Assignments" <br />for for each Committee member, the agenda for this meeting, a <br />list of persons who havc c,-.-pxessed interest in Reading's <br />350th, and information on Lynnfield's 200th held in 1982 from <br />Alan Foulds. <br />On the day of this meeting, May 18, 1989, in the "Chronicled" <br />section of the DAILY CHRONICLE, the following appeared: <br />-In 1994, Reading will celebrate its 350th birthday, <br />and plans for the party are well underway. The 350th <br />Anniversary Committee will meet tonight in the board <br />room of the Reading Public Library at 7:30, and discuss <br />fund-raising for the event, according to spokesman, <br />Edward Palmer. the meeting is open to the public. <br />Palmer also announced that the anniversary committee has <br />and official address: P.O. Box 1994. <br />I. REPORTS <br />A. Minutes of April Meeting: It was moved by Susan Flannery <br />that the minutes of the April 25, 1989 meeting be accepted. <br />Susan Theophanis seconded the motion and it was passed <br />unanimously. <br />
