Board of Health <br />January UT, 1992 <br />The meeting of the Board of Health came <br />January 31992 in the Berger Room of <br />Street. Present at the meeting were board <br />Cathy Baranofsky, and Bill Murphy as well <br />Jane Fiore and Diane Kurkjian. <br />to order at 1:10 pm <br />Town Hall, 16 Lowell <br />members James Nugent, <br />as staff Ruth Cogan, <br />The minutes of December 12, 1991 were approved as presented <br />2:0:1. <br />Cogan noted that the state health department would be distribut- <br />ing hepatitis B vaccine along with the other biologics beginning <br />February 1. It is part of a universal hepatitis b vaccination <br />program for all infants born after February 1. <br />The draft regulations for MGL 111 S 150 B governing local site <br />assignment for hazardous waste facilities were released by DEP. <br />Cogan will draft comments for the Board. <br />Chocolate Suite, a new candy store to be located next to Square <br />Liquors, has made inquiries January 24 about opening for business <br />February 3. At this time they have not submitted a plan review. <br />The Board agreed that the Director could review and <br />approve/disapprove the plans. <br />The Town Managerfs proposed PY93 budget was discussed, specifi- <br />cally the dissolution of the-Health Department and the transfer <br />of the Prevention Education Coordinator to the School Department. <br />The consensus of the Board was that they strongly opposed this <br />budget and that they would express that opinion to the Board of <br />Selectmen at their next meeting. <br />The meeting adjourned at 2:15 pm. <br />Respectfully submitted. <br />Ruth L.
