Board of Health Meeting <br />September 10, 1998 <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:07 P.M. in the Berger Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, <br />Massachusetts by Chairperson James J. Nugent. The delay in calling to order was due to a fire <br />alarm and building evacuation. Member Nancy Carlson and staff liaison Jane Fiore were present. <br />Acceptance of minutes from June, August, were tabled due to the compliment of Board members <br />present.. <br />New Business <br />• Sympathy was extended to Board member Cindy Richards on the loss of her father. <br />• Staff member Carol Fiocco, Public Health Nurse, presented annual update to the Board. <br />this included the numbers of immunizations given for FY98, communicable disease <br />follow-ups, special projects for both the Division and state. <br />• Reorganization of the Reading Board of Health was tabled. <br />• Administrative Update : included special issues regarding budget, inspections,and <br />programming. <br />• Introduction of Assistant Town manager / Human Services Department Head, Russell <br />Dean, welcome and discussion. <br />• Cumberland Farms - plan review for reconstruction of interior Convenience Store package <br />food service and coffee bar, and tobacco sales. passed as presented 2:00. Letter to be <br />forwarded to legal department of Cumberland Farms, Dedham MA. <br />Old Business <br />• Food Manager Certification Regulations passed 2:0:0 effective date July 1, 1999. <br />• Church supper and Bake sale information sheets will be mailed to all brotherhood <br />organizations by the health director. <br />Report on car Wash noise complaint - fining process to begin September 15 if company not <br />in compliance with regulations. <br />Adjourned at 6:40 PM <br />Next meeting October 8, 1998 <br />6 PM Berger Room,Town Hall <br />
