Rybicki, J. Donovan, J. Fallon, F.Fotino, <br />G. Shannon <br />The minutes from the May meeti-nZ were accepted as is. <br />W. Hughes introduced Claire Shea to the committee. (Recording Sec.) <br />W. Hughes announced that Mr. White and Mr. Moscarello would not be attending the meeting, <br />and in their place would be Kathy Carley, representing a group of Reading citizens with <br />cuestions concerning pool hours for free swim. <br />Correspondence <br />A letter was received from Petra Corboy, (Reading resident), requesting permission to use <br />the facilities at Washington Park for a family softball game on July 4th from 12 noon until <br />3 P.M. A motion was made by F. Fotino to approve the request, and seconded by J. Donovan. <br />Vote was 4 to 1 in favor. <br />`-,letter was received from Zarry Millett concerning an injury on Morton Field. <br />A letter was received from the school committee approving facilities reservations. <br />Reading Citizen - pool free swim hours <br />Kathy Carley representing a group of Reading Citizens, questioned pool rules concerning <br />free swim for children under 8 years of age. The committee agreed to change the hours <br />from 5 P.M. to 8.to 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., with the provisal that a study would be made and <br />evaluated by the 2nd Wednesday in July,(July 8th). J. Fallon made a motion to change <br />the hours and G. Donovan seconded it. The vote was 5 - 0. <br />Pool preparation <br />It has been reported by Chris Copeland that the pool should be inspected on Friday, June <br />12, and hopefully opened by June 15th. The filtration plant is working. A diving board <br />is still needed and the D.P.W. will be leveling concrete in the fall. <br />Also reported was that Reading High students recently threw glass viles into the pool, <br />breaking them. Glass has been removed and Chris Copeland has spoken to Dr. Piechota, <br />(Principal), and the Science department head. <br />Cpen swim hours will be maintained from 8 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. <br />Summer Program Registration <br />registration was held on May 30th and approximately 69000.00 was taken in. Girls basket- <br />ball clinics seem to be the only area not well attended. It was suggested there by more <br />publicity in that area, perhaps through high school coaches. <br />
