RECREATION MEETING MINUTES <br />DECEMBER 12, 1990 <br />A meeting of the Recreation Committee was called to order at 7:40 <br />by chairman J. Fallon. ' In attendance were committee members <br />F.Conover, T. McGrath, J. Pacino, associate members S. Sullivan, <br />L Salter. C. Swymer arrived at 7:50. <br />A motion to accept the minutes of the October 17 and Nov. 7 as <br />amended. Lesley is to find out from R. Foley amount due from the <br />Cherry Sheets for Camp Hope and also to get a ruling from Town <br />Counsel in writing, regarding the legality of transfering funds <br />from the Revolving to General Fund. Passed 4-0-1 J. Pacino <br />abstained. <br />SUPERVISOR'S REPORT <br />Ms. Wexler discussed the new Tennis Clinic beginning January 6. <br />Registrations have been slow and she is doing another Press <br />Release. Discussion followed on ways to advertise programs. It <br />was decided Recreation should run a weekly column in the <br />newspaper. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />T. McGrath suggested the additional use next year of the Girl's <br />Gym for Basketball in order to have smaller teams. Currently <br />there are 14 kids on each team and he felt they were not getting <br />enough playing time. J. Fallon was not in favor. L. Wexler dis- <br />cussed raising the age level at Open Rec because some problems <br />had been encountered with a few of the HS age. <br />It was decided to continue funding for Spinning Wheels. Drew <br />Bililies will attend the January meeting with information on the <br />program. <br />Other concerns discussed were the lighting costs of the fields <br />and the best way to charge for usage. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />L. Wexler proposed two new programs. The first being a Karate <br />program "Kinder Kicks" for 3 to 6 yr olds run by Dan Lynn. The <br />program would start the end of January for 6 weeks and beheld at <br />Barrows from 6-7p.m. with the cost being $25. Mr. Lynn asked if <br />the 15% fee could be figured after paying custodial fee. It was <br />felt that that would set a precedent. F. Conover motioned to ac- <br />cept the program KinderKicks run as a 15% fee program based on <br />gross through the Revolving Account. Seconded by T. McGrath <br />Unanimous <br />1 <br />
