Recreation Committee - <br />The Recreation Committee met at 7:31 pm in the Conference Room of <br />Town Hall on Wednesday, January 13, 1993. Present fat thel m6dtll ng <br />were Vice Chair Fred Conover, Gary Roberts, Gordon Richards, Lor- <br />raine Salter, Steve Sullivan, Tom Zaya, Kate Kaminer, Ed Hanley. <br />Minutes of November 19, 1992 were accepted as presented 5:0:0 on <br />a motion by Kaminer and seconded by Sullivan. <br />The proposal for a fifth grade basketball tournament was not dis- <br />cussed as the proposal was withdrawn. <br />John Pacino arrived. <br />Election of a Chair: A letter from Joe Giordano was distributed <br />noting his intention to resign as Chair and potentially from the <br />Committee due to a new job opportunity. A discussion was begun <br />by Conover about the need for a Chair and a Chair who is avail- <br />able during the day. Pacino offered the suggestion of each mem- <br />ber being Chair for a month. Members explained why they felt that <br />they could not be Chair. Pacino offered to be Chair. The discus- <br />sion was tabled until later in the meeting. <br />At 8:03 pm the Public Hearing concerning the fee schedule for <br />summer programs was opened. Cogan recited the Legal Notice. <br />There being no public present, comments were taken from the Com- <br />mittee. Comments were favorable about keeping the fees the same <br />as last year. There was brief discussion concerning the new ad- <br />ministrative cancellation fee, comments being favorable. The <br />public hearing was closed on a motion by Kaminer and seconded by <br />Sullivan. On a motion from Sullivan and seconded by Salter the <br />fee schedule was accepted as proposed. <br />Old Business: Cogan noted that after receiving 2 calls about <br />tennis lessons she called Executive Racquetime (for the third <br />time) about winter lessons. She was informed by the manager <br />that they were running lessons in conjunction with the Recreation <br />Department (unbeknownst to her!) The person running the program <br />was unavailable until tomorrow afternoon; no further information <br />was available until then. <br />Pacino noted that he would like to begin work again on the Master <br />Park Plan. Richards and Sullivan will help along with the two <br />members of the Conservation Committee. <br />Teen Center will be having its first function March 12 at 7 pm at <br />the YMCA. Staff is copying and distributing the questionnaire <br />prepared by the Teen Center Committee to the 7 -9th graders. <br />The Town Manager has requested that the Food Vending Task Force <br />have some draft regulations available for implementation for the <br />summer. <br />Supervisor's Report: Cogan went through the items on the Report <br />dated January 6, 1993. Discussion was held concerning Caroll's <br />outstanding fee. Comments were made about having the fee paid up <br />
