By-Law Committee Minutes #130 June 29, 1988 Member present: Ed Murphy, Dolores Carroll, Nils Nordberg and Phil Pacino 7:37 Chairman Murphy called the meeting to order in Room 16 of the Town Hall Chairman Murphy stated that a meeting had been scheduled on August 17, 1988 with Ted Cohen to,review several recodification issues, Town Manager, Peter Hechkenbleikner, and Town Clerk, Doris Fantasia, will also be invited to that meeting. The committee then turned its attention to recodying the present rylaws. The committee started with Article 1 Town Meeting . The article was proposed to be changed as follows: Section 3 renumbered to 2.1.1 11 Section 2 renumbered to 2.1.3 and the last sentence starting with "A subsequent...' was dropped New 2.1.4 was added to read"A subsequent Town Meeting shall be held on the second Monday in November, except if this day shall fall on a legal holiday, in which casd the meeting shall be held on the following day, Mztizz~ - consider and act on all business as may properly come before it, except the adoption of the annual operating budget." Section 3 renumbered 2.1.2 Section 4 renumbered 2.1.5 Section 5 renumbered 2.1.6 and that it be reworded to read "The Board of Selectmen shall give notice of Annual, _Subsequent of Special Town Meeting at least fourteen (14) days prior to the time of holding said meeting by causing an attested copy of the Warrant calling the same to'be posted in at least three(3) public places in each precinct of the Town and either causing such attested copy tc be published in a local newspaper or mailing an attested copy of said Warrant to each Town Meeting Member." Section 6 was deleted Section 7 was renumbered 2.1.7 Section 8 was renumbered 2.1.8 The committee then proceded to Article II as follows: Section 1 renumbered 3.1.1 and renumbered the rules thereunder as follows: Rule".1 became Rule 2, Rule 2 became Rule 4, Rule 3 became Rule 5, Rule 4 became Rule 6, Rule 5 became Rule 7, Rule 6 became Rule 8, Rule 7 be#came Rule 9, Rule 8 became Rule 10. Rule 9 became Rule 11,Rule 10 became Rule 12, Rule 11 be4came Rule 13, Rule 12 became Rule 14, Rule 13 became Rule 15, Rule 14 became Rule 16, Rule 15 became Rule 17, Rule 16 became Rule'l and Rule 17 became Rule 3.
