TOWN OF READING <br />ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br />MINUTES DECEMBER, 3 1992 <br />Members Present Ardith Wieworka, Chairman <br />Stephen Tucker <br />John Coote <br />A meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held <br />in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Ball, 16 Lowell <br />Street, Reading, A at 7:00 P.M. <br />The first hearing was a continued hearing on the petition <br />of Loretta Cavagnaro who was seeking a Variance and or an <br />Appeal to the Decision of the Building Inspector under <br />Section 5.1.2 of the Zoning By-Laws of the Town of Beading <br />in order to build a 16 x 16 screened porch too close to the <br />lot line on property located at 120 High Street. <br />Ms. Wieworka stated that no testimony was taken at the last <br />hearing held on October 15, 1992. <br />Mr. Timothy Kelley, representing the applicant, submitted a <br />memo summarizing his comments. <br />At 7:07 Mr. Jarema joined the quorum. <br />Mr. Kelley gage a brief background of <br />stated that Ms. Cavagnaro applied for <br />build the porch. He went on to say that he <br />believed that the lot met the criteria for a Variance. <br />He stated that the Lot was a unique shape. He stated that <br />the lot was an acute triangular shape. He also stated that <br />the porch could not be put anywhere else on the lot. If it <br />was put on the other side of the house it would not be <br />useful because it would not be near the pool. <br />Mr. Kelley stated that it would be a hardship for the <br />Cavagnaros because they could not use their property. <br />The porch would allow them to enjoy their pool area more <br />as there are many bugs from the swamp area nearby. He also <br />stated that it would not be detrimental to the public good, <br />and in fact would have a positive effect on the <br />neighborhood. <br />
