TOWN OF READING <br />ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br />MINUTES JUNE 17, 1993 <br />Members Present: Ardith Wieworka, Chairman <br />John Jarema <br />Stephen Tucker <br />Carol Scott* <br />John Coote* <br />*Indicates a non-voting member <br />A meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held in the <br />Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Hall, 16 Lowell <br />Street, Reading, MA at 7:00. <br />The scheduled public hearing was on the petition of Mobil <br />Oil Corporation who was seeking a Variance under Section <br />5.1.2 and 5.2.3.4 of the Reading Zoning By-Laws from the <br />front yard setbacks to allow for a canopy and pump islands <br />in connection with a proposed improvement at its existing <br />service station located at 1330 Main Street, Reading, MA. <br />Ms. Wieworka stated that the Board had received a letter <br />from the attorney representing Mobil Oil Corporation. <br />Mr. Jarema read the letter dated June 3, 1993 stating that <br />Mobil was uncertain whether to move forward with the <br />present proposed site plan. They asked to withdraw the <br />present application without prejudice. <br />At 7:15 Mr. Tucker moved to accept the request of the <br />attorney for Mobil Oil Corporation asking to withdraw <br />without prejudice their petition for the service station <br />located at 1330 Main Street, Reading, MA. Mr. Jarema <br />seconded and the motion passed with a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR JULY 1993 THROUGH JUNE 1994 <br />At 7:25 P.M. Ms. Wieworka moved to nominate John Jarema <br />for Chairman. Mr. Tucker seconded and the motion passed <br />with a vote of 4-0-1 with Mr. Jarema abstaining. <br />Mr. Jarema then moved to nominate Mr. Tucker as Vice <br />Chairman. Ms. Wieworka seconded and the motion passed with <br />a vote of 4-0-1 with Mr. Tucker abstaining. <br /> <br />The Board then discussed that a member was needed to <br />represent the Zoning Board of Appeals on the Housing <br />Partnership. Mr. Coote stated that he would be interested. <br />
