Minutes <br />Reading Historical Commission <br />June 19, 1997 <br />Meeting convened at 7:35 p.m. <br />Regular members present: Virginia Adams, David O'Sullivan, Roberta. Sullivan <br />Associate members present: Colonel Wilbar Hoxie, Gladys Montgomery Jones, Louise <br />Sandberg, Alan Ulrich L~ <br />Minutes recorded by Gladys Montgomery Jones 4, i~ <br />r,- E <br />Treasurer's Report (Roberta): r t,1 <br />There are more bills than the RHC can pay Fiscal year ending balance for is $52.11 in <br />the special account and zero in the regular account. <br />Administration: <br />• There is one vacancy in the regular membership to be filled by the Board of <br />Selectmen. Wilbar and Gladys have applied. Meeting scheduled for June 24; Wilbar <br />to be on vacation, will submit letter. <br />General: <br />• . Eleanor Bishop's will established a $5,000 fund at the Library from which the interest <br />can be used to purchase and restore books having to do with Reading history. <br />• Received notification of landscape preservation grant program <br />Historic Properties: <br />• 30-32 John Street: RHC testified at ZBA hearing earlier this evening. Gladys to call <br />Building Inspector and CPDC office to find out what demolition procedure is for <br />building with lead paint and asbestos. Virginia to call potential buyers Ron Smith <br />and Curt N4ehe." rrZ ~.H <br />• 607 Main Street: some interior demolition took place without a permit. Virginia <br />moved and Roberta seconded that the RHC make the determination that the property <br />as listed in the Town Inventory falls under section 5. 1,,3.3.3 of the Demolition <br />Review bylaw. Passed 3-0-0. Hearing set for July 10th. Roberta to follow up to <br />schedule site visit. <br />Next meeting scheduled for July 10. <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:IOPM. <br />
