t <br />Minutes of Reading Historical Commission meeting on June 22, 1998 <br />Attending: Virginia Adams, David O'Sullivan, Louise Sandberg, Roberta <br />Sullivan, Clayton Jones <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. by the co-chair. <br />Attending were Foster-Emerson bidders, Les and Cheryl Sidelinker. <br />David brought up Town Counsel's proposed Preservation Restriction <br />Agreement. Sidelinkers raised objections to provision #4 on inspection of <br />premises. General agreement between Commission and Sidelinkers to allow <br />inspections only at time of ownership transfers and major changes requested <br />in house (provisions # 3 and #9). They also agreed to work with attorneys to <br />come up with language that would require regular communication between <br />Grantee and Grantor every three years that might allow a review of changes <br />in the house. Clay Jones to contact Town Counsel. <br />Commission decided to add "removing" after "Painting" in Restriction <br />Guidelines (Paint "Major"), add "or framing timbers" after "cladding" in <br />Exterior "Major", and to remove entire category on Landscape and <br />Outbuildings. Jones to advise Town Counsel <br />The Commission then discussed the June 20 proposed agreement by the <br />Sidlinkers regarding Parlor partition and added dormer. <br />After debate on what Parlor features might stay, be removed, moved, or <br />altered, David moved to accept the proposal. Roberta seconded. Vote in favor <br />4-0-1 (Jones). <br />Sidelinkers agreed to the Commission's initial document on preserving the <br />house's features, except for their suggested changes on certain features, such <br />as granite facing. Final document is to be called Restoration Work Agreement <br />for Foster-Emerson House. <br />Meeting adjourned 10:20 p.m. <br />Minutes by Clayton Jones <br />
