TOWN OF READING <br />ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br />lb <br />MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 17, 1998 <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: CHRISTOPHER VACCARO, CHAIRMAN <br />JOHN COOTE <br />MICHAEL LARKIN <br />A meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's <br />Meeting Room of the Town Hall, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts <br />at 7:OOPM. Mr. Vaccaro swore in, under oath, those present that would be <br />addressing the Board this evening. <br />The first Public Hearing was on the petition of-Barlo Signs who seeks a <br />Variance under Section 6.2 (Sign By-Law) of the Zoning By-Laws in order <br />to install a wall sign on the property located at 4 Minot Street in Reading, <br />Massachusetts. (Case #98-23) <br />The petitioner, Brian Reardon. of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, represented <br />himself He was requesting to place a sign above the entrance of his <br />business. The Board questioned why he had not been to the Sign Review <br />Board and instructed him to do so, and then return to the Zoning Board. <br />A motion was made, seconded and unanimously voted to continue the Public <br />Hearing to October 15, 1998_ <br />VOTE 3-0 (passed) <br />The next Public Hearing was on the petition of Batten Brothers, Inc. / <br />Eastern Bank who seeks a Variance and an Appeal from the Decision of the <br />Building Inspector under Section 6.2 (Sign By-Law) and 7.4.2 of the Zoning <br />By-Laws in order to install a wall sign on the property located at 30 Haven <br />Street in Reading, Massachusetts. (Case #98-22) <br />The petitioner was represented by Richard Batten and by officers of Eastern <br />Bank. The bank is located in a supermarket, which has two major entrances. <br />The bank has a sign at the rear entrance but none at the front. They are <br />requesting this sign so that customers will be able to locate this branch. <br />
