Council on Aging Board Meeting <br />Room 16 - Town Hall <br />March 13, 1989 <br />Present: Gladys Cail, Barbara Doucette, Dorothy Foxon, Gail <br />Rourke, Loretta Spaulding, Irving Stackpole, Lois <br />Bond <br />Absent: Ginny Lane, Linda Nordberg, Barbara Ritchie, Ruth <br />Vitkovich <br />Meeting was called to order at 5:40 p.m. by Chairperson Gladys <br />Cail in Room 16 of the Town Hall. <br />Amy Lassman, Marketing Co-ordinator from Somerset Nursing Home, <br />Reading presented information on a new state,certified Adult Day <br />Health Service program at Somerset which it's hoped to open on <br />April 18, 1989. Amy would like from us referrals to Somerset and <br />the use of our van for transportation which brought up the quest- <br />ions of liability and 6 mile radius which would extend beyond <br />Reading. <br />Minutes of the February meeting were accepted on a motion by <br />Loretta Spaulding and seconded by Irving Stackpole. <br />The Treasurer's Report was accepted. Fifty-four percent of a <br />projected sixty-six percent of the budget to date has been spent. <br />The Director's Report was accepted. Updated information <br />included: <br />1. Attorney Bartley's presentation on Social Security was taped <br />on Channel 3 which will become part of the video library; <br />2. Garden Club Program is March 15, 1989; <br />3. Cholesterol Screening at Senior Center - discussion as to <br />whether or not the $7.00 charge would be reimbursable by Med- <br />icaid. <br />Old Business <br />Survey - Irving Stackpole has <br />Budget and timetable <br />at April meeting.
