COUNCIL ON AGING <br />Secretary°s Report <br />September 12, 1983 <br />The re ula-~ 7r.orthly meeting of the Council on A ing was held on <br />Monday, eD' e , elf 12, 1983. <br />Attendees: Chairperson Lorna Knapp; Administrative Secretary, Rheta <br />McKinley; members Dick Felone, Marcia McFarland, John YiacBonnell, <br />Mary Ottino, Corrine Pezoraro, Sebastian Tine, and Associate Member, <br />Frank Lemaire. <br />Absentees; Betty Knox and Lester Ralph. <br />Chairperson Knapp called the meeting to order at 7:30 P-M- <br />The motions were duly made, seconded and VOTED to accept the minutes of <br />June 13, July 6 and August 29 respectively, <br />FINANCIAL REPORT <br />Sebastian Tine, Treasurer, quoted from the printout as of August 6, <br />It differed slightly from the budget submitted by the Board. The General. <br />Fund totaled 47:863., expenditures (two months into the fiscal year), <br />were $6,271.31, leaving a balance of $41,591.69. <br />ir. Tine stated he had received a memo announcing the call for any <br />capital outlay the Council wants to make. Chairperson Knapp stated <br />the only capital outlay required was for a new van a -rid that this request <br />had been made last year. She questioned the necessity of it being sub- <br />mitted again. Mr. Tine quoted the memo as saying "The Finance Committee <br />requests that a written list of proposed projects for each o the next <br />five years, listed in order of their priority within your area of respon- <br />sibility, be submitted by September 29." <br />Mr. .cDonnell suggested that due to the fact that the present van is <br />wearing out quicker than anticipated that the request be resubmitted. <br />Chairperson Knapp called on Frank Lema.ire to give his report on the <br />activities of the Mystic Valley Horne Care Services. For the benefit of <br />any newcomers, . Lemaire explained that eight areas are served; namely, <br />Malden, Medford, Melrose, Wakefi ld, Stoneham, Reading and No. Reading. <br />`Where are 25 Directors, including Lorna kna.pp and Frank. He reported a <br />new Executive Director, Dan Leary, has taken of'f'ice, replacing Ms. Molly <br />Burns, 'rho has recently married. <br />
