COUNCIL ON AGING <br />Secretary's Report <br />may 9, 1983 <br />The regular monthly meeting of the Council on Aging Board. was held on <br />1 ondayo May 9, 1983. <br />Attendees; Chairperson Lorna Knapp; members Dick Felone, Betty Knox, <br />ary Ottino, Sebastian Tine, Lee Winslow, and Associate Member Frank <br />Lemaire. <br />Absento Rheta McKinley, Administrative Secretary; members Tony Barrasso, <br />Andy Mulhinch, and Donna Ruth. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Knapp at 7:40 P.M. <br />The Secretary's Report for April 11 was reviewed by the Board. Frank <br />Lemaire questioned the statement that the Patrons for Older Adults was <br />started in 1978. (next to last paragraph on first page.) As the exact <br />date wasn't known by the Board it was decided to delete the sentence. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded it was VOTED to accept the minutes <br />as corrected. <br />Sebastian '.fine, Treasurer, reported that as of April 28 the General <br />Fund balance was $8,1,`1.~a2ti Expenditures of 36,?j6e68 represents <br />83.0 of the budget, which corresponds quite accurately with the fiscal <br />year. He stated we are still carrying a balance for Home Care but in <br />our latest warrant we have a request that will meet this obligation. <br />Sebastian stated that he had been asked by Administrative ;secretary <br />McKinley to attend the meeting held at the Town Hall in regard to the <br />Union, as Mrs. McKinley is covered by the contract - thus ineligible <br />to attend. Sebastian displayed a copy of the contract and suggested, <br />that each member of the Board read it. Nary Ottino offered to make <br />copies for the members. Chairperson Knapp thanked hir, for attending <br />the meeting and reporting thereon. <br />Chairperson Knapp asked. for a brief' report from Frank Lemaire on the <br />T'ystic Valley Elder Services meeting, Mir, Lemaire had not received <br />the minutes but it was determined that most of the meeting was devoted. <br />to the subject of the contracting process for meal vending, trans- <br />por°tation services, hbme care and chore providers, and the procedures <br />used to send out requests for proposais. <br />ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY'S REPORT <br />The Board discussed the exhibition of the articles made in the various classes <br />sponsored by the Council on Aging. The exhibit was deemed a great success <br />in spite of the inclement weather. If this program is offered again it <br />will be necessary for definite rules to be et up governing the articles <br />displayed, and a committee of senior citizens will be required to take <br />charge. <br />
