Council on Aging <br />Regular meeting <br />January 4, 1982 <br />The regular meeting of the Council on Aging was held on January 4, 1982 <br />in the recreation hall at Frank Tanner Drive. <br />The secretary's report was accepted as rendered. <br />VOTED: to send :$150.00 to Austin Prep in appreciation for donating the <br />use of their facilities for annual dinner. <br />VOTED: to fund an emergency food package for homebound elders to be used <br />during bad weather when shopping and meal delivery is difficult. Cost not <br />to exceed x$250.00. Frs. McKinley and Mrs. Turnquist will purchase items <br />and see that they are delivered. <br />There was considerable discussion concerning the transfer of COA grant money <br />from meals on wheels driver to outreach worker. No action was taken at this <br />time. <br />A lengthy discussion ensued concerning uneven wear of front tires on van, <br />also maintenance and repair of van. The board did not come to any conclusion. <br />Copies of proposed TY82-83 budget was given to each board member. John <br />MacDonnell discussed each line item at length. Most board members felt <br />their was insufficient information available to substantiate the line items. <br />A motion was made by Betty Knox, seconded by Priscilla Poehler, to accept <br />proposed 82-83 budget as written. Four votes in favor - five opposed, the <br />motion lost. <br />VOTED: to hold a special meeting to work on HY82--83 budget allowing all <br />board members an opportunity to have input. This meeting will be held on <br />January 14, 1982 at 8:00 P.M. <br />
