READING COUNCIL ON AGING <br />Secretary's Report <br />July 9, 1986 <br />PRESENT: Woody Baldwin, Dick Felone, Rosemary Gibbons, Aloyse <br />Jellison, Lorna Knapp, Frank Lemaire and Sebastian Tine <br />and Selectwoman Molly Zeigler <br />ABSENT: John Montgomery and. Jane Soule <br />ELECTION OF OFFICERS: The following slate of officers were nominated <br />Chairperson <br />Vice-Chairperson <br />Secretary <br />Treasurer <br />F. Richard Felone <br />Aloyse Jellison <br />Lorna Knapp <br />Jane Soule <br />The officers were approved by-a unanimous vote. <br />FORMULA GRANT: There was considerable discussion on how to use <br />$6855 in 1987 EOEA grant . <br />A motion was made, seconded and approved by unanimous vote to: <br />Continue funding Friendly Visitor Program and increase sal- <br />ary of Coordinator to $6.10 per hour. <br />(2; Continue funding 22 hours of salary per week for MOW Coor- <br />dinator @ $6.72 per hour with anticipated increase as rat- <br />ified by union contract. <br />3. $500.00 for MCOA dues, meetings, conferences, etc. for COA <br />w board and staff. <br />i'4~ Balance of grant will be used to pay salary of shopper @ $6.10 <br />per hour for 16 hours per week. <br />MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION: Rheta requested permission to pay medical trans- <br />portation cost for two clients. After a lengthy discussion it was voted <br />to pay these costs. Rheta feels there should.be guidelines to follow for <br />future requests. The Board will work towards setting up guidelines for <br />medical`rtransportation requests. Rheta will try to set up a contract with <br />a local cab company willing to"do out-of-town medical transportation on <br />an as needed basis.
