t <br />COUNCIL ON AGING <br />BOARD MEETING, NOVEMBER 10, 1986 <br />PRESENT: F. Richard Felone, Chairman; Aloyse Jellison; Rosemary Gibbons; <br />Sebastian Tine; Barbara Doucette; Woody Baldwin; Ruth Montague; <br />Jane Soule; Associate Member, Loretta Spaulding. <br />ABSENT: Gladys Cail; John Montgomery <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dick Felone at 7:30 p.m. <br />Motion MADE, SECONDED and VOTED to accept Minutes of previous meeting. <br />FINANCIAL REPORT: Rheta, who was out ill, sent a report that there was <br />$51,532.78 in budget as of October 31, 1986. Motion MADE, SECONDED and <br />VOTED to accept Financial Report. <br />REPORT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY: As Rheta was ill, there was no report. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />ANNUAL DINNER: Board was notified that the schools would not be able to <br />supply place mats for the Annual Dinner. Also, no word had been received <br />from Jon Asgeirsson about providing entertainment during dinner. After <br />discussion, it was decided to have door prizes and drawings, as the seniors <br />look forward to this. A suggestion was made to play tapes, in lieu of live <br />music. <br />PERSONNEL: After much discussion about Board Member John Montgomery not <br />attending any Board meetings, a motion was MADE, SECONDED and VOTED that <br />Rheta write a letter to the Selectmen outlining the chronology of events <br />leading up to the Board's decision, asking that they drop him.... <br />Aloyse also brought up the fact that Volunteers, some who have faithfully <br />worked for the Council on Aging for over 10 years, felt they should have <br />some privileges, such as tickets for some of the affairs going on, but it <br />was decided to leave the distribution of tickets as VOTED on 9/15/86 and - <br />see what happens. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />SCHEDULING COUNCIL ON AGING PROGRAMS TO AVOID CONFLICTS WITH SENIOR <br />ORGANIZATIONS: <br />After discussion, it was agreed that some sort of a calendar of coming events <br />should be maintained for at least 6 months ahead. It was decided that Rheta <br />work out the mechani.cson this and notify the other organizations. A motion <br />was MADE, SECONDED and VOTED to allow the Council on Aging to be a clearing <br />house for coming events for older citizens. <br />
