COUNCIL ON AGING YJ,vi, <br />"`H CLERK <br />Board Meeting - July 8, 1987 N G, S. <br />~ <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Gladys Cail, Gail Rourke, Loretta Spauldin , Rosemary <br />Gibbons, Dick Felone, Aloyse Jellison, Woo#033 '4w1h, P 3: 28 <br />Barbara Doucette <br />STAFF PRESENT: Rheta McKinley <br />The meeting of the Council on Aging was held in the recreation <br />hall at Frank Tanner Drive immediately following the annual cookout. The <br />meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman, Dick Felone. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as presented. <br />Financial Report: There is a balance of $5,295. in the salary account <br />for the year 86/87, this must be returned to the general fund. There is <br />$1,521,, * ' remaining in the expense portion of the budget, approximately one-half <br />is needed for remaining expenses of budget, balance going back to general fund. <br />Nominating Committee: The nominating committee presented the following <br />slate of officers: <br />Chairperson - Woodrow Baldwin <br />V. Chairperson - Rosemary Gibbons <br />Secretary - - Gail Rourke <br />Treasurer - - Barbara Doucette <br />There were no other nominations and the slate of officers were approved <br />unanimously. <br />Relocation:. There was a lengthy discussion concerning pro's and con's <br />of relocating the Senior Center in the proposed new town hall complex. <br />Our main concern being adequate parking. Woody drafted a letter, airing <br />our concerns; this will be available at the next meeting. After the <br />Board approves; it will be forwarded to all concerned. <br />Board Questionaire: The Board Members were given a memo prepared by <br />Woody Baldwin requesting input for next years agenda. He asked that <br />each member work on one or more of suggested committees and during the <br />summer, think about other Council on Aging needs and concerns. <br />The following people volunteered: <br />Gail Rourke - P. R. and "Making Noise" and Needs Assessment Survey <br />Barbara Doucette -Needs Assessment Survey <br />Gladys Cail Woody Baldwin - Board Training <br />Dick Felone - Guidelines for "Volunteer of Month" <br />Rosemary Gibbons - Pre-Retirement Program <br />Aloyse Jellison - Cultivate "Working Relationship" with the Patrons <br />of Older Adults.. <br />
