RECEIVED <br />Reading Public Schools TOW CLERK <br />READING MASS. <br />Reading, Massachusetts <br />' <br />Regular Session Ma ~2& ! 1 P 2` 32 <br />Call to Order <br />Chair Webb called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. at the School Committee Conference <br />Room. Present were Ms. Webb, Ms. Gibbs, Mr. Michaud, Mr. Robinson, Superintendent <br />Patrick Schettini, Jr., Director of Human Resources and Finance Mary DeLai, Assistant <br />Superintendent John Doherty, and Steven Hagan from the Reading Chronicle. <br />Mrs. Webb discussed that RCTV was present and will be videotaping the meeting. She <br />introduced the members of the committee for the audience. Mrs. Webb also read the <br />mission statement for the Reading Public Schools. <br />Routine Matters <br />Personnel <br />Bills and Payrolls <br />There were bills and payrolls were circulating. <br />Citizens' Input <br />There was no citizens' input. <br />Gifts <br />There were no gifts presented this evening. <br />Reports of Chairman, Liaisons, and Superintendent <br />Superintendent Schettini reported a few items: <br />• Mr. Finigan reported in a memo that all students in the Junior and Senior classes <br />have passed the MCAS as part of their graduation requirement. <br />• Mrs. Lauren Fusco, a grade 5 teacher at the Joshua Eaton Elementary school, won <br />the teacher of the year award sponsored by WalMart, Inc. She received her award <br />today in a surprise ceremony at Joshua Eaton. <br />• Mr. Finigan reported that Jim DeBenedictis received the National History Day <br />teacher of the year. <br />• Reading Public Schools has been recognized by Expansion Magazine as a gold <br />award winner. <br />• June 9"' will be the rededication ceremony of Reading Memorial High School. <br />The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. <br />
