Reading Public Schools <br />Reading, Massachusetts <br />RECEIVED <br />Regular Session May 29, 2007 <br />Call to Order <br />Chair Webb called the meeting to order at 8:01 p.m. at the School Committee Conference <br />Room. Present were Ms. Webb, Ms. Gibbs, Mr. Caruso, Mr. McFadden, Mr. Michaud, <br />Mr. Robinson, Superintendent Patrick Schettini, Jr., Assistant Superintendent John <br />Doherty, and Steven Hagan from the Reading Chronicle. <br />Routine Matters <br />Bills and Payrolls <br />Bills and payrolls were circulating. <br />Citizens' Input <br />There was no citizens' input. <br />Gifts <br />There were no gifts for this evening. <br />Reports of Chairman, Liaisons, and Superintendent <br />• Mr. McFadden reported that every girl's and boy's spring sports teams came in <br />either first or second in the Middlesex League. He congratulated the athletic <br />department and athletic director Phil Vaccaro for their efforts. <br />• Mrs. Gibbs thanked the Freshmen Baseball Team for volunteering at the <br />Challenger Baseball session last Friday night. <br />• Mrs. Webb reported on the meeting that she and Superintendent Schettini had met <br />with a representative of the Governor's Office on Education. <br />• Mrs. Webb reported that the Town Manager is looking for a member of the <br />School Committee or a citizen appointed by the school committee to be on the <br />planning committee for the Birch Meadow Area. There was unanimous <br />consensus that Chris Caruso will represent the School Committee on this <br />committee. <br />Superintendent Schettini reported that the RISE playground will be opening soon. <br />Superintendent Schettini and Mr. Robinson reported on the Joshua Eaton <br />celebration that occurred on Memorial Day. <br />Calendar <br />Mrs. Webb said that the next School Committee meeting will be on June 4"'. Graduation <br />will be on June 3rd at 1:00 p.m. <br />
