( ' LiW F <br />tol <br />A, t' ~Z <br />Reading School Committee <br />Reading, Massachusetts <br />Regular Session h 8, 2004 <br />Marc <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chair Dahl called the regular session to order at 7:40 p.m. in the Superintendent's <br />Conference Room. Present were School Committee Members John Carpenter, Harvey <br />Dahl, Lisa Gibbs, Carl McFadden, Robert Spadafora and Elaine Webb. Also present were <br />Superintendent Schettini and Associate Superintendent Richards. <br />BILLS AND PAYROLLS <br />Bills and Payrolls were circulated for signatures. <br />Chair Dahl welcomed Lisa Gibbs to the School Committee. <br />Chair Dahl commented that the high school drama production entered for competition <br />was excellent. <br />CITIZEN"S INPUT <br />Mr. Ryan stated that an email reached a quorum of School Committee Members <br />unintentionally. <br />Mr. Dahl stated that no violation took place. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Ms. Webb moved to accept the Coolidge Middle School Pro'ect for school Purposes. <br />Mr. Spadafora seconded the motion The vote was 6-0. Carpenter. Dahl, Gibbs, <br />McFadden, Spadafora and Webb <br />Chair Dahl stated he was very pleased with Coolidge Middle School. <br />Robert Peirce and Daniel Gorini from Flansburgh Associates gave an overview of the <br />new elementary school. Mr. Gorini explained that the new school would have a "school <br />in the woods" feel to it. The colors would reflect New England in fall. <br />There was discussion regarding the middle school size gym in the new school. <br />Mr. Carpenter asked what the mechanism would be to ensure a middle school size (74 <br />feet x 42 feet) gym. <br />
