Reading School Committee <br />Reading, Massachusetts <br />y f Lam. 1 Y E D <br />Iti CLERK <br />i",L DING, mAss. <br />1004 SEP 22 A 11: 29 <br />Informational Abutter's Meeting_ June 15, 2004 <br />Chair McFadden called the School Committee to order because they had a quorum in the <br />Reading Memorial High School Lecture Hall. Present were Mr. Carpenter, Mr. <br />McFadden, Ms. Webb and Mr. Dahl. Also present were Superintendent Schettini and <br />Associate Superintendent Richards. <br />Superintendent Schettini introduced Mr. Scott Dunlap from AD, Mr. David Capaldo from <br />the Design Partnership of Cambridge and Mr. Stephen Shaunessey from AD. Mr. <br />Shaunessey is the on-site person for the high school project. <br />Mr. Capaldo gave an overview of the first construction phase, which will take place <br />during the first year. Phase II deals with the renovation of the Science Wing and the <br />Superintendent's Office. The project is expected to last for thirty-seven months. <br />Ms. Webb asked if there is access to the back parking lot. The one abutter will have <br />access only. <br />A citizen asked if the construction vehicle access would be from Oakland Road. Mr. <br />Hechenbleikner stated construction vehicle would access in and out from Oakland Road <br />only. <br />A citizen asked the hours of construction. <br />Mr. Hechenbleikner stated the normal hours of construction are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. <br />Monday through Friday and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to Noon and no Sundays. <br />A citizen asked if there is proposed parking on the street. <br />Mr. Hechenbleikner stated there would be some street parking on Oakland Road and <br />Longfellow Road. The gate before the RISE entrance will be locked. The parking on <br />Oakland Road cannot interfere with the drop off and pick up of the Coolidge Middle <br />School Students. <br />A citizen asked where the construction workers would park. He was told inside the <br />fence. <br />A citizen suggested that a crossing guard be placed at Hartshorn Road and John Carver <br />Road. Mr. Hechenbleikner stated it was not in the budget but that he would look into it. <br />A citizen asked if the construction site would be accessed through imagination Station. <br />Mr. Capaldo stated that was never a possibility. <br />
