~_U <br />CLERK <br />St ASS. <br />Reading School Committee uti~t - t e e <br />Reading, Massachusetts ' <br />Regular Session July 18, 2005 <br />Call to Order <br />Chair Spadafora called the regular session School Committee to order at 7:30 p.m. in the <br />Coolidge Middle School Multi-Purpose Room. Present were Mr. Dahl, Mr. McFadden, <br />Mrs. Gibbs, Mr. Spadafora and Mr. Carpenter. Also present were Superintendent <br />Schettini, Director of Human Resources and Finance Mary DeLai. <br />Bills and Payrolls <br />Bills and Payrolls were circulated for signature. <br />Citizen's Input <br />There was no Citizen's Input. <br />Gifts <br />Superintendent Schettini stated that there were gifts. The first was a $20,000 donation <br />from First Call Mortgage. The money is to be used for the engineering and design of the <br />stadium lighting. This will allow us to move forward. <br />Mrs. Gibbs moved to accept the $20,000 donation from First Call Mortgage Mr. <br />Carpenter seconded the motion The vote was 4-0-1 Mr. Carpenter, Mr. Dahl, Mr. <br />Spadafora and Mrs. Gibbs voting for and Mr. McFadden abstaining <br />Superintendent Schettini thanked Mr. McFadden for moving the plans forward. <br />The Young Woman's League of Reading donated $200 to both the Wood End and <br />,Barrows Elementary Schools for technology and $2,070 to be used toward the purchase <br />of science equipment in the elementary schools. <br />Mrs. Gibbs move to accept the donation of $2,070 to the BEAKER Proiect and <br />individual donations to the Wood End and Barrows Schools to Provide for <br />technology from the Young Woman's League of Reading Mr. Dahl seconded the <br />motion. The vote was 5-0. Mr. Carpenter, Mr Dahl, Mr Spadafora, Mrs Gibbs <br />and Mr. McFadden. <br />Mr. Carpenter asked that the proper thank you letters be sent. <br />-Superintendent-Schettini introduced John Doherty, Assistant Superintendent. Everyone <br />welcomed him. <br />
