C <br />Retreat September 17, 2005 <br />Call to Order <br />Chair Spadafora called the regular session to order at 7:00 a.m. in the Coolidge Middle <br />School Conference Room. Present were Ms. Webb, Mr. Dahl, Mr. Spadafora, Mr. <br />McFadden, Mrs. Gibbs and Mr. Carpenter. Also present were Superintendent Schettini, <br />Assistant Superintendent Doherty, Director of Human Resources and Finance Mary <br />DeLai and Special Education Director Stephen Gannon. <br />Chair Spadafora gave a slide show presentation overview and a summary of the <br />Administrative Institute in August. He stated the District Improvement Plan feeds the <br />School Improvement Plans so we have to get the sequence in order. The District <br />Improvement Plan informs the budget process as well. <br />There was discussion and brain storming. Where do we want to be in three years? <br />(Please see attached list.) <br />They reviewed a working draft copy of the District Improvement Plan. There was <br />discussion on Target One, which deals with school climate and culture. They went on to <br />Target 2 dealing with teaching and learning. <br />Mr. Dahl moved to include Teachers and Administration after the word student in <br />Target 5. Mr. McFadden seconded the motion The vote was 3-2-1. Mr. <br />McFadden, Mr. Dahl,_ Mr. Carpenter voting for and Mr. Spadafora and Ms Webb <br />voting against and Mrs Gibbs abstaining The motion failed <br />Adjourn <br />Mrs. Gibbs moved to adiourn. Mr. McFadden seconded the motion The vote was <br />6-0. Ms. Webb, Mr. Dahl, Mr. Spadafora, Mr. McFadden, Mrs Gibbs and Mr. <br />Carpenter <br />P~H(~ <br />Patrick A. 9chettini Jr. <br />Superintendent of Schools <br />
