A MEETING OF THE BOARD OF HEALTH <br />f' October 16, 1986 <br />A meeting of the Board of Health convened on October 16, 1986 <br />at 7:00 p.m. in the Reading Health Department's Office, located in <br />the Executive Office Building, 6 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts. <br />Present were Chairman Jill C. Dugan, Board Members Dr. Paul Caselle <br />and James J. Nugent, Health Director Ruth L. Cogan, Nurse Coordinator <br />Sonja Griffith and Town Manager Peter I. Hechenbleikner. <br />Under the first order of business the Board moved, seconded, and <br />voted in favor, 3:0, to approve the minutes of the September 8, 1986 <br />meeting as amended. <br />Discussion regarding existing conditions at 28 Green Street <br />ended with a motion by the Board, in favor 3:0, to allow the Health <br />Director to go ahead with further action on this matter. The Health <br />Director agreed to review the case with the Health Inspector, <br />Mr. Tabbi, and to proceed with legal action of necessary. <br />Legal action was also recommended by the Board on an order of <br />aseptic system connection requirement at #3 Whittier Road. The <br />owner of the dwelling, Peter Kramer, has not responded to any <br />telephone calls or correspondence from the Health Department <br />requesting his proof of connection. <br />A presentation was made to the Board by Nurse Coordinator, <br />Sonja Griffith. She gave an overall preview of the pre-adolescent <br />:seminars planned for girls in the 4th to 8th grades. She stated <br />,that plans are also underway for a presentation to boys in the.7th <br />and 8th grades. A flu immunization clinic update followed with <br />excellent results reported and still an additional clinic to be <br />Yield on the 28th of October. <br />The subject of a press release for Ruth Cogan, the new Health <br />..•biredtor, was brought up for discussion. The Board felt that it would <br />...be-nice to alert the public that we now have a new Health Director. <br />They asked the secretary to contact the Daily Times & Chronicle and <br />'ask for their assistance. <br />
