BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />December 17, 1986 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Dr. Paul <br />Caselle. The following people attended: <br />Paul Caselle - Board Member <br />Jim Nugent - Board Member <br />Ruth Cogan - Health Director <br />Mr. Yacoyanis - Citizen <br />i <br />Ronald Herzberg - Public Health Consultant <br />Robert Batelle - E.M.M.H.A. <br />Joseph Tabbi - Health Inspector <br />The first order of business was the approval of minutes. The <br />minutes of October 30, 1986 were approved as read, 2:0. The minutes <br />of November 20, 1986 were approved with the addition of the following <br />phrase at the end of number 7 on page 2: "a percolation test to <br />ensure adequate drainage and a slope of 3:1 rather than 2:1." The <br />„ motion was passed 2:0. <br />- The next order of business was a presentation by Ron Herzberg <br />concerning his program of food service seminars. His credentials <br />include his work as an FDA Senior Food Inspector, an author'of <br />presently used food service regulations, two books and several <br />articles concerning food protection. He has given the two hour <br />slide presentation for the following health departments: Tewksbury, <br />Maynard, Concord, Hull, Hingham, Randolph, Holbrook, Hanover, <br />Norwell, Canton, Worcester (1987). The Department is responsible <br />for arranging the location and notifying local food service <br />establishments. The establishment pays $15 per person directly to <br />Mr. Herzberg. Thi's price includes all written materials as well <br />I~ as an NSF approved 0-2200 F thermometer. If the department <br />would rather pay for Mr. Herzberg's services itself, the fee is <br />$250.00 per session with with a two session minimum. Mr. Herzberg <br />suggested a minimum of a 30 day planning time line. The:Board <br />j voted 2:0 to use the services of Mr. Herzberg for the department's <br />food service seminar. Planning arrangements are to be made by <br />the Director. <br />
